Before I try to define some of my personal principles of Photography and the perceptual beauty of nature.

The foundations for my renewed interest in Photography were truly set in stone.  With the birth of my Son. There is surely nothing in this Universe that is as beautiful and more terrifying, than the birth of a child? My son is the most beautiful revelation and affirmation of my life for which I am eternally grateful to his wonderful, beautiful Mother. She is the epitome of a Woman with hand, heart, and head full of grace. I am forever in her debt no matter where our paths take us. I just hope that one day, eventually, I can make him proud of me? I might even sell a print or two? I can just hear my son saying " Oh Dad, why have put that in?"But Life really began for me, when he was born.

My particular philosophy about photography is being able to impart the emotion of the scene, to the viewer. To be quiet in image-making, calm, and meditative. Reflective and introspective.

My own floral photography is more than pictures of botanical specimens! My main influences are Imogen Cunningham, Edvard Koinberg, and Ron Van Dongen. I am trying to express the pure essence and tranquility of the bloom. Isolating sensual lines and bold, vibrant colours. Naturally abstracting these elements into a single composition. It is, however, possible that this detracts from the identification of the particular bloom. But doesn't render it any less beautiful.
